Online Presentation
In the autumn of last year, I was honoured to receive the Diane Bouchier Artist Award for Excellence in Botanical Art from the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA), in recognition of my work as a botanical artist. As part of this award, I was given the opportunity to speak to ASBA members in a commemorative presentation.
In the talk, I shared my personal journey through life with a focus on botanical art. I spoke about the social background of my childhood and how studying traditional Japanese painting at university has shaped my current approach to creating art. In particular, I realised how deeply my education during junior high and high school has influenced me, and I felt a renewed sense of gratitude for those formative experiences.
